Hy-Bor Prepreg Microscope Image

Building on the partnership with Toray Advanced Composites announced in October 2022, development of Hy-Bor databases at NIAR has made significant progress. The database now includes Hy-Bor prepregs with 4-mil boron fiber, TORAYCA® T1100 carbon fiber, and multiple Toray resin systems (TC350, TC380, RS-3C, TC420, RS-8HT, and RS-51).

The databases continue to be examined for emerging defense markets seeking advanced composite technologies to maximize compression property performance and decrease structure weight.
